The William Osler Society for Medical Education (OSME)
OSME is the medical education forum for Oxford clinical students to develop and exchange teaching ideas and opportunities. This means whether you’re interested in teaching on existing schemes, developing your own teaching, or making teaching resources, there is opportunity available here. Medical education is an important part of being a doctor and we hope to play a part in you developing this skill and even considering it as a career.
Our Pages
Events
In its inaugural year, the society plans to run a number of successful teaching programmes from previous years, and also hopes to trial a few new ideas. You can view these in our “Events” page:
TEACHING PROJECTS:
We have a growing cohort of keen tutors (of all levels of experience) to help run programmes and all members of the society are encouraged to teach where possible. If you would like to get involved with teaching projects, programmes and schemes and also get access to teaching resources then visit our “Teaching Projects and Resources” Page:
TEACHING RESOURCES:
If you want to improve your teaching through attending courses or would like any other resources, such as feedback forms, advice on small group teaching and academic papers on medical education, then please do visit our “Teaching Resources” page:

MEMBERSHIP:
Anybody in the clinical years of Oxford medical school (or the graduate entry course) can join up as a member. As a member you will receive regular email updates on goings on within the society and you can also attend or teach on any of the schemes OSME is running.
Furthermore, there will also be regular OSME member meetings designed to update members of the society on teaching programmes, and to allow any member to propose new teaching ideas (and to also receive support in developing it!)
